Port Dickson: Satu objek dipercayai rakit getah keselamatan kapal terbang dengan tulisan 'boarding' ditemui sekumpulan empat nelayan kira-kira 10 batu nautika dari pantai di sini, semalam.
Penemuan kira-kira jam 12 tengah hari itu dipercayai dapat memberi petunjuk dalam usaha pihak berkuasa mengesan pesawat MH370 milik Penerbangan Malaysia (MAS) yang dilaporkan hilang dan terputus hubungan dengan menara kawalan sejak awal Sabtu lalu.
Nelayan Azman Mohamad, 40 berkata, mereka sedang menangkap ikan di perairan terbabit sebelum sebelum terpandang objek berkenaan tenggelam timbul dipukul ombak.
Katanya, dia bersama tiga rakan yang mengikuti perkembangan kes kehilangan pesawat MH370 melalui media, tertarik untuk melihat objek itu dengan lebih dekat.
"Saya dan rakan sedaya upaya cuba mengambil objek itu dan berjaya sebelum menambatnya pada bot kerana bimbang ia tenggelam dalam laut.
"Objek itu mungkin tidak mampu terapung lama kerana koyak atau bocor," katanya, ketika dihubungi semalam.
Azman yang sudah 20 tahun menjadi nelayan berkata, mereka keluar menangkap ikan pada jam 8 pagi dan pulang kira-kira jam 8 malam.
"Sebaik menemui objek itu, saya terus menghubungi Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (APMM) di Kuala Linggi, Melaka, untuk mendapatkan bantuan selepas gagal menaikkan objek itu yang terlalu berat.
"Saya yakin penemuan objek itu penting kerana mungkin boleh menjadi petunjuk kepada usaha mencari pesawat MH370 kerana terdapat tulisan ‘boarding’ pada permukaan objek itu.
"Ia mungkin adalah rakit getah penyelamat yang dibekalkan kepada penumpang pesawat untuk menyelamatkan diri di laut," katanya.
Katanya, sebaik bot APMM tiba di lokasi, tugas mengangkat objek itu diserahkan kepada pasukan berkenaan, manakala mereka kemudian menyambung kerja menangkap ikan.
Sementara itu, jurucakap APMM Kuala Linggi ketika dihubungi mengesahkan sepasukan anggotanya dihantar ke tempat kejadian untuk menyiasat penemuan itu.
Bagaimanapun, katanya objek itu terus tenggelam dalam laut dan tidak sempat diselamatkan.

Authorities are investigating the possibility that the pilot of the missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH 370 committed suicide, the director of the CIA has revealed.
John Brennan, head of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), said: 'I think you cannot discount any theory', when asked if it was possible the pilot deliberately crashed the Boeing 777………

Mechanical engineer Paul Weeks, 39, of Perth, Australia, was on the flight as he made his way to his first shift in a fly-in fly-out job.
His wife Danica has revealed how he left the objects with her to give to their two boys if something was to happen to him……
She told 9News National in Perth: '(He said) "If something should happen to me then the wedding ring should go to the first son that gets married and then the watch to the second".'
The former soldier, who was born in New Zealand, moved his young family to Perth after their home in Christchurch was devastated by earthquakes…..

SAN FRANCISCO: Employees of Freescale Semiconductor who were on a Malaysia Airlines flight presumed to have crashed were doing sophisticated work at the U.S. chipmaker, a company spokesman said on Sunday.
The 20 Freescale employees, among 239 people on flight MH370, were mostly engineers and other experts working to make the company's chip facilities in Tianjin, China, and Kuala Lumpur more efficient, said Mitch Haws, vice president, global communications and investor relations.
"These were people with a lot of experience and technical background and they were very important people," Haws said. "It's definitely a loss for the company."
None of Austin, Texas-based Freescale's most senior executives were on board the Boeing Co 777-200ER airliner that vanished from radar screens about an hour after it took off from Kuala Lumpur for Beijing on Saturday.
The employees who were on board, 12 from Malaysia and eight from China, came from a range of disciplines and they were part of a broad push by Chief Executive Officer Gregg Lowe to make Freescale more efficient and cost effective, Haws said.
Top-quality engineers are hard to come by for chipmakers and other technology companies, and losing them can have a major impact on business, regardless of their seniority.
While the employees on the flight account for less than 1 percent of Freescale's global workforce of 16,800 people, they were working toward the same goals and their loss will reverberate throughout Freescale, Haws said.
They had been streamlining facilities in Tianjin and Kuala Lumpur that Freescale uses for testing and packaging microchips used in automobiles, consumer products, telecommunications infrastructure and industrial equipment.
On Sunday, Freescale was organizing transportation and accommodation for the 20 staff members' families, as well as providing grief counseling, Haws said.
One of the chipmaker's long-time competitors, Texas Instruments, tweeted on Saturday: "We extend our condolences to the families and coworkers of the @Freescale employees aboard Malaysia Airlines flight MH370."- Reuters
